【the ❝CALL ME OUT❞ meme】 a roleplay meme to inspire muses.
♛ refer to the list above for active muses. ♛ post "calling" one of them out — you can do so by putting their name in the subject line! ♛ can be informal/formal/comment spam/crosscanon/explicit/whatever tickles your fancy! ♛ feel free to make up a scenario at the start, borrow from a meme or wait to see where things go. ♛ a couple of my favorite suggestions: caught in the rain, pillow forts, affectionate physical contact, insomnia, into the woods, hurt/comfort, coffee shop, and of course TFLN, random scenarios and the wheel of memes! Or why not try a quote/picture/lyric prompt?
Heh. See, that's what I tell 'em, but somehow that doesn't make 'em feel any better.
[This is said with obvious amusement in her voice. She knows why it wouldn't make them feel any better. But she's not complaining if he's not scared! It's a sleek, black car, real leather seats (that are also black), varnished wood arm rests, gold accents and controls...definitely a car from the most powerful clan in Japan. No expenses spared. Natsumi gives the address to their driver once he gets in as well, and with a "Yes Natsumi-chan" they're off.]
[What a fancy car... he can't really resist rubbing his fingers against the leather seat. Hajime probably did the exact same thing; they are brothers, after all. It's a little grand for his tastes, though. Ah well. It's not like it's his car.]
I suppose I should have known better to assume we'd take the train.
[She's not against doing it herself, but her family letting her is another matter. They'd probably have a body guard to make sure she got on and off the train safely.
...if she didn't sneak out to do it on her own, anyway.]
I told you, greasy shit. They're not some fancy, hoity-toity place. They cook their chicken and beef and noodles in lots of sauce, or fry the cellophane noodles in lots of oil...it's really good. Their desserts are great too, and they stock lots of sweet drinks! They've got tea and stuff too if you don't like those though.
I don't mind it. People sometimes say interesting things when they assume everyone around them is too busy thinking about their own lives.
[He hums quietly, nodding with her assessment. He might be a rather fit and intelligent teenager, but he has no problem with eating junk food! Just not at all the time. And not when he's about to go to sleep!!]
...Sakuramochi, [he says finally.] Do they have sakuramochi?
[The opposite of his brother's favorite food. They'd always trade each other.]
[She's very confident. She's sure they'll be a next time! He'll see, he'll totally like hanging out with her and want to go out again.]
That's like...completely opposite of what Hajime likes. It's just funny to me. He'd always make a face when I picked one out to eat myself, or offered him a bite of it.
He follows her gaze out the window, noting where they are and trying to remember what's in this area. Ah, yeah, he's walked by this place before, but never stopped in.]
Did my brother like this place?
[He's just assuming this must have been one of their date spots?]
[She clearly wasn't expecting a question like that. What the fuck. What the fuck? Who said you could ask that question!!!]
No, of course not! Are you kidding? A guy like that could never like sweets. Why are you even asking, I mean we aren't even twins!
[Yes, he does. They both have massive sweet tooths that could easily rival one another. Natsumi just gets to enjoy hers more because it's perfectly normal for a girl to like sweets.]
He did. It wasn't his favorite or anything, but he said the food was good and didn't mind it when we went here instead of some nicer joint.
[He doesn't have to say anything. He just smirks at her denial, an expression for which I have no icon but assume it's a very handsome expression because of course it is. This Izuru actually has emotions, after all! And he can be amused at the fact that the heir to the biggest yakuza family in the country has a sweet tooth.]
I'm looking forward to it, [is all he says, though he's still smirking.]
[That stupid (handsome) smirk tells her that he doesn't believe her, and she scowls dark.]
You tell anyone and you're dead, got me?
[This is a serious threat, Natsumi not acknowledging what he said at all. Not that she's ignoring him, and she's actually pretty happy to hear that, but this needs to be set straight first.]
[He doesn't seem intimidated by the threat, though he is slightly taken-aback by the venom in her voice. Huh... this is already more interesting than he could have planned on.]
Your wish is my command... is what I'm supposed to say, right?
[He probably wouldn't tell anyone, anyway?? There's no point and the punishment would outway any potential reward for him.]
As long as it's "I'll keep my mouth shut" I don't care how you say it.
[She doesn't seem at ease just yet, even as the car pulls in to park.]
And don't think I didn't catch the sarcasm there. Are you swearing to keep it to yourself or not?
[She's not stupid, she knows how to get around promises and agreements very well. Saying you agree and then asking if that's what you're supposed to say is exactly that kind of thing. Because it's not actually agreeing, it's just asking if that's what she wants to hear.]
I promise not to tell anyone... though you may want to work on your reactions, in the future.
[Once the car is parked, he opens the door and slips out before anyone can offer to open it for him. It's just... how he does it? He's not used to people opening doors for him!]
[She typically needs to work on her reactions to everything, and it's something she's aware of. But people don't usually ask her so directly, seemingly out of the blue. Maybe when she's getting sweets for herself but???
But that answer is enough for her. When the driver opens her door, she gets out and seems much more relaxed, leaning against the hood of it with a smile again. Waiting for him to come around to her side.]
[She leads the way into the restaurant, the driver staying with the car. That's probably answer enough, but she replies anyway.]
Nah. He'll hang out here. I'll make enough ruckus if something happens that he'll come running.
[But it's probably okay. She's not the heir, so she's not as big of a target as her brother. The menu shows some pretty typical dishes that you'd probably find anywhere in Japan. Nothing fancy, like she said, and the whole restaurant smells like the good food that's cooking in the back. There aren't a lot of patrons, and she points out a booth seat to him.]
[Though it might be kind of interesting, too? Maybe he could beat up some thugs or something.
He takes a minute to look over the menu before settling on oyakodon. It's a pretty normal thing to order, but listen... it tastes good so shut up. He'll also get some tea.]
[She's the one who asked him on this date, so of course he assumed she was paying. And he assumed she was used to paying for Hajime's dates often enough that he shouldn't even bother offering.
He rests his chin in his hand and looks across the table at her with some curiosity.]
Oh, y'know. I figured we could make some small talk. Maybe talk about the weather. It's been pretty nice lately, right?
[Her grin and the tone of her voice says she's teasing. She may have been dating Hajime, but she of course paid some attention to Izuru during that time. And his brother talked about him sometimes too. She doesn't know exactly the extent of a problem he has with boring things, but she knows enough to tease him some.]
[He gives her a sour look. He know he's being teased!! And listen, he just gets bored easily. Conversations about the weather? Boring. Gossiping about classmates? Boring. Talking about homework? Boring. That just exhausted his entire repertoire of practiced conversations with most of his classmates.]
I'd say I could just leave, but you already bought me something to eat.

I hope you saved plenty of room for food.

I suppose I should have known better to assume we'd take the train.
[Rich people...]
What kind of food is it?
no subject
You like taking the train?
[She's not against doing it herself, but her family letting her is another matter. They'd probably have a body guard to make sure she got on and off the train safely.

Huh.
[Natsumi eyes the window separating themselves from the driver before leaning over to him to whisper a question.]
How about we take the train next time then?
[After that she sits back with a grin and a wink before nodding.]
They do, yeah.
[Pause...and then a laugh.]
Is that your favorite? Oh my god.
no subject
Suit yourself.
[Assuming there is a next time? Confident. He kind of admires that, in a way. Most girls don't speak to him so casually.
Then he frowns, and a trifle defensively, asks,]
...Why is that funny?
no subject
[She's very confident. She's sure they'll be a next time! He'll see, he'll totally like hanging out with her and want to go out again.]

[Laughtrack.wav]
He'd always want my kusamochi and trade his sakuramochi for it. I guess I just got used to it.
[Another small shrug. It's not that big a deal!]
Neither of us usually eat many sweets.
no subject
[That's all!]
Yeah, I noticed that with him and wondered that about you. More for me then!
[She glances out the tinted window, humming a little.]
Almost there now. It's not far from the school.

[THE Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu? Certainly not, right?
He follows her gaze out the window, noting where they are and trying to remember what's in this area. Ah, yeah, he's walked by this place before, but never stopped in.]

We're gettin' a booth seat, that alright?
no subject
He raises an eyebrow again, but shrugs.]
Sure. Why not?
[They're more comfortable than tables. He nods toward the driver.]
Will he be joining us?
[Is this a chaperoned date...]
no subject
Good.
[She leads the way into the restaurant, the driver staying with the car. That's probably answer enough, but she replies anyway.]

This one, right?
[He'll just head over there and slide in.]
no subject
Yeah!
[That's the one. As he does that, she makes her order, paying before heading over to join him. She slides into the booth opposite of him, smiling.]
If you end up wantin' seconds that's fine. I'll buy whatever.
no subject
[She's the one who asked him on this date, so of course he assumed she was paying. And he assumed she was used to paying for Hajime's dates often enough that he shouldn't even bother offering.

So what now?

[Her grin and the tone of her voice says she's teasing. She may have been dating Hajime, but she of course paid some attention to Izuru during that time. And his brother talked about him sometimes too. She doesn't know exactly the extent of a problem he has with boring things, but she knows enough to tease him some.]

Boring. That just exhausted his entire repertoire of practiced conversations with most of his classmates.]

Aw come on, relax. I hate talking about the weather.
[Unless it's "hey the weather's nice let's go to the beach."]
