[Her grin and the tone of her voice says she's teasing. She may have been dating Hajime, but she of course paid some attention to Izuru during that time. And his brother talked about him sometimes too. She doesn't know exactly the extent of a problem he has with boring things, but she knows enough to tease him some.]

It seems rather invasive, though. If you pay attention, it's not hard to figure out what someone's doing or what they're thinking about. The general gist of things, I mean, not mind-reading.

[She glances out their window, because it's absolutely a window seat even if Ki forgot to mention that, and watches a few people pass by. Eventually she sees one she likes and points them out.]
Okay, see that guy in the big coat? The trench with his collar popped and shit?

[He frowns, but follows her gaze out the window, nodding once he's spotted the person she's indicated.]

Okay, sooo what do you think he's hiding in that coat? It's pretty warm out to be wearing something like that, and he's got it buttoned up and totally looks like he's sketch, right?
[She rests her chin in one of her hands, glancing over to him.]
Maybe it's some kinda illegal drug. Maybe he's smuggling puppies somewhere. Maybe he's some kinda alien!
[And then her free hand gestures to Izuru.]

Whatever he has in his coat is mostly along the right-hand size. The hem is just a little lower. That probably means he's left-handed, since it's easier to reach into your jacket with the opposite hand.
He's also wearing a surgical mask. It's more likely that he's buttoned up his coat because he feels cold from illness.

Alright. So he's all buttoned up tight, trying to just get home. It's the afternoon, there're kids everywhere, he just wants to go the fuck home. Tryin' not to draw attention to himself, but it's not because he's some kind of antisocial fuck.
[Attention back on Izuru, one of her hands gesturing a little as she talks.]
Really he is in the business of smugglin' puppies. He's got one hand in his pocket because he's tryin' to keep this little teacup pooch quiet. Just picked him up from a client, needs to get him home and findin' someone to sell him to. But this is the cutest lil' shit you've ever seen. And then--
[She sits up, pausing her story as their orders are delivered. Her dish looks pretty plain, but there's a pink bubbly soda in her cup, and...two strawberry parfaits. Two. One is set aside and the other she picks up a spoon and takes a few bites from, almost whining happily about how delicious it is.]
So good~! This place has my favorite parfaits!
[What were they talking about? Hold on, she needs another bite to help her remember.]

Yeah, really! [You were asking if they were really her favorites, right? Her reply is mumbled around another bite, Natsumi looking just as pleased with this one as she did the last. And then she pushes the parfait towards him, offering out her spoon.]

[His oyakodon is steaming gently in front of him, and it does smell good. But sure, fine, he'll have a bite of parfait, taking her spoon and trying a bite. His eyes widen slightly, and he makes a quiet noise of appreciation.]

[Then he'll snap his chopsticks and start stirring his actual food.]

She's careful as she takes a bite, not taking too big of one so as not to be rude and doing her best to avoid making a mess. And then she hands the chopsticks back, nodding.]

He takes his chopsticks back to start eating himself, nodding in appreciation. It's good? She definitely made a good choice, coming here.]

[She takes a quick bite of her parfait, leaning back in her seat.]
Anyway like I said, puppy is a real cute shit, and the guys not sure he wants to give him away now. Figures if he sends his client the money, s'not gonna matter who takes him home. Except there are rules about this kinda thing. He's part of a ring of puppy smugglers, they say you can't do that kinda shit. Gotta sell 'em, or you'll get caught.

Well yeah! How else would you take out a puppy smuggler?
[She's just grinning, clearly amused by his incredulous tone.]
Sort of, in a way. Turns out the puppy is just too cute! It's so cute, that when the assassin sees the smuggler bending down to give it his last goodbyes, he just can't stand the idea of parting 'em. So he agrees to fake his death, let the guy live on the run as an ex-smuggler. A dangerous life in this world of illicit animal smuggling rings that don't forgive you for turnin' your back on 'em, but he's okay with it. He's got his little pup with him for the whole journey after all!
[That is a satisfying ending, don't you think?]
Oh, but the assassin didn't get to pet him. Poor guy is too intense, scared the little shit before he had the chance. That's why he's an assassin and not a smuggler.
